An Easy Guide to Window Measurement

Custom window treatments are made to fit your windows, but that can only happen if proper measurements are made. We offer you the choice to measure your windows or have one of our professionals do the measuring to ensure your new blinds are a perfect fit. If you choose to measure the windows on your own, here are some things to consider:

Do you have the proper tools?

To preserve accuracy, you will need a sturdy steel tape measure.
To reach the windows that need measuring, you will also need a ladder. Don't forget to follow safety procedures - have someone to spot you while you take note of the measurements.

Do you know what you are measuring?

Prepare a list of the windows you will be measuring ahead of time and identify any uniquely shaped windows.
Know what style of window treatment you are measuring for. How you measure the window will be different depending on the type of mount (inside or outside).
